We keep hearing that it makes no sense worrying but we do it anyway. Why? It’s not as if worrying will change things. Think about it the situation won’t change it remains the same very often so why worry? Even with this logic we still worry about what will happen and very often worrying won’t change the outcome. The human mind it’s said is the only one that can make itself sick by thinking of all scenarios. We are the only creatures on the planet that can worry ourselves to death. Sigh.
What’s so hard about living in the moment?
We sit and worry about the funds we don’t have for example and it takes away from us finding a way to make more money because we can’t see outside of that cloud created by the worry. Been here one time too often. It’s when we step back, stop worrying for just a few moments we see clearly. It’s not easy but it’s possible. Believe me I know. The thing about it is that when you figure out what to do that’s when you say to yourself, “what was I worried about?” Many times you laugh and move on but it’s as if we didn’t learn the lesson because it happens again. Sigh.
How does one slow or stop this trait? What do you do? Meditation helps. It causes me to stop worrying about the “problem” and focus on solving whatever stands in my way. Interestingly that’s when you realize that the situation isn’t insurmountable. There is always some way to sort the situation. Now if you always look at it from an emotional perspective it will always look like a mountain. We know the only way to climb a mountain is to focus on the first step and not the top of the mountain itself. Well that’s what I do. How about you?
Worrying very often is equated with sadness. When we worry we don’t see things as being good and maybe that’s why that song was so popular years ago, “don’t worry, be happy.”
With things as they are now it’s so hard not to worry. How do we get to that stage where we don’t worry about everything under the Sun?🤔. I want to be there, do you? I wonder also about some persons if they will ever want to be in a place where there is no reason to worry. They remind me of the persons that have to have something to make them the center of attention. You ask them how they doing and they tell you about their latest issues. While writing I sat thinking if this was what I do 🤔. I hope not. How do you stop the constant worrying and just move on with life as best you can?
