“We walk by faith not by sight.”
2 Corinthians 5:7
I went to my friend mom’s funeral on the weekend and the scripture reading above stood out for me. Don’t know why. As I sat there I took out my phone and wrote it down. Yes I did in the church as I did not want to forget. My memory not that good, so…. After the funeral when hanging out with my friends I met a friend of a friend and she epitomized the concept of walking by faith. I loved her stories. Believe me she has had an interesting life and she embraced all of it. Her willingness to jump without seeing the net and stepping out thinking that the “lord would provide,” was inspirational. Some might consider her crazy but she have large amounts of faith, there is no doubt. As the Bible says faith can move mountains. Just from talking to her for that short period of time I felt her energy.
How is it that some persons are able to get up and just step out in faith and go do what they want when others can’t or won’t? Is it the make up of the personality or is it that we are paralyzed because of fear. Sometimes I realize it’s not exact our fears but that of others. When we go talk to someone about our ideas and what we want to do they have fears and project them onto us. Have you ever heard this one “I wouldn’t if I were you.” When you ask why, “because you might fail.” But is failure that bad? Will life come to an end of we don’t knock the ball out of the park? I have failed quite a number of times and I realized it made no difference here nor there. As my dad would say to me just get up and brush yourself off. If we do get up and continue like a baby would do when learning to walk then it’s possible to do anything. Look forward and don’t stop.
Interestingly the persons that have that unwavering faith show a level of confidence that is unbelievable. Do you need that confidence in order to be able to have loads of faith?🤔. I have never thought of this before. Is it just because you believe? As my mom loved to say, “belief kills and belief cures.”
