When I was growing up my mother always had a saying when something happened and she tried to get to the bottom of it. “There are two sides to every story, your side, my side and the truth.” That always stuck with me. I never really grasped the full meaning until later in life when I would be on the opposite side of someone in an argument. That’s when you realize that everybody thinks they have the truth on their side. My side is always in the right and I will put whatever pressure I can on you to make you accept it. What happens in many instances is that there is tremendous push back as I won’t accept your views and you won’t accept mine. Impasse!!! Can you relate?
How do we get to the truth?🤔. I have wondered but haven’t fully figured it out. What about you, do you know or do you even care? Are you one with blinders on and have no peripheral vision? Without seeing outside of your little world that you created how do you get an appreciation of what others think? Maybe they are right and that is the truth. How will you know if you hang on only to your views and biases like a little bull terrier? Maybe I’m being too open minded or maybe naive. I wonder. What do you think?
The thing about it is that very often none of the sides have the truth but it’s out there. Not even certain if it will “set you free.” Actually do you even want it to or will you hold on to your views thinking that is the truth? You know the thing that always shows the truth? Time. And in many situations when revealed it still looks like a fallacy. We still hang on to our version of the truth come hell or high water.
So do you agree with my mom, there is your side to the story, my side and the truth? I really want to know what you are thinking, and I know others do too. Can one ask a question of “what is truth, If they have already told themself truth doesn’t even exist? If one believes every person has their opinion, but none is true, then to them truth is subjective and cannot fully exist. How could it? Of such is called a “Nihilist”
Anyway, putting aside terminologies, let’s see if this question can be addressed accordingly…
To answer the question of “truth” one has to answer the question of “origin”. Why? because if life “evolved” from random nothingness and intelligent life came from “non-intelligence” then the answer to the question of “truth” is simply “truth cannot exist”. Because “evolution” lacks consistency, purpose and observability, and the question for truth requires all of those three.
On the other hand, if intelligent life and all that exist, came from an intelligent creator, then truth will obviously be based on what that creator has declared…not what the “created” thinks or says, but only if such statement is consistent with what the creator has already declared. Can the pot cannot say to the potter “I exist by myself and to myself and there is no potter?”.
As a Christian for many years I have asked many questions and have observed many things. One thing I have observed is that despite the existence of many religions in the world, only the Christian Bible has declared world history before it happens, and has been 100% accurate to this very day. That’s called “Bible Prophesy” for those who want to do the math of their own personal research. What that tells me is that the Bible has “truth”. Not only because the information contained spanned over 6,000 yrs of world history, but that the authors themselves stated the information did not come from them, but was given to them from “God”. If they were lying, howbeit everything they said came “true” thousands of years afterwards, even today?
And even then, the central focus of the entire Bible, is Jesus Christ, who said ” I am the way, the truth and the life”… and… ” I am the Alph and the Omega, the beginning and the end”.
If this is true, and Jesus truly is God, the creator of all things (like the Bible says), then truth can only be what He has declared, in every principle, observability, and purpose, which incidentally, is what we see everyday around us (if you are aware of His teachings). Only the creator of this world, can declare the beginning and the end of all circumstances with 100% accuracy, and that is exactly what have also been observed, to this very day.
Either that, or you believe what “evolution” teaches, that life… came from death, and truth is only what you make it.
Whatever you believe, one thing is observable. No man knows even his own life and the circumstances that will befall him, but only one has declared the beginning and ending of all things which was and is still being seen to be true.
That person, and that person alone, is Jesus Christ, and if what He says is true, and if He is really God, then whether you believe in Him or not, cannot really change what He has declared true, and is to come.
God bless.

“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” – John 8:31-32
Interesting way of looking at the topic.
Someone else also said the Bible (Christian) was the source of truth. So basically one has to live by the words of Bible. But what about those that don’t see the Bible as the source of truth 🤔. Do we ostracized them or do we try to include them?
That’s a very fair question. Unfortunately a majority of the Christian church (people) today have become so religious and caught up into religious laws of days, food and tradition, that they have forgotten what the Bible is about. The Bible is said to be the Word of God. That means it is for everyone to understand what God wants us to know about Himself, ourselves, the world and the universe around us, as well as His decisions and plans for all based on their own life’s choices.
God chose a select people (the Jews) with which to record their history and interactions with Him through principle. This is a very generalized summary of the Bible, but essentially the Bible is a historical book with information and knowledge that have transcended and surpassed even those who wrote it. This is Gods’ authentication method in the Bible. To show what no man could know beyond time & space, and be relevant to all generations unto eternity.
The reason I emphasize the Bible much, is that the authenticity of its’ information is always there, even though many tried to change or destroy it throughout history. But because the information is scattered and embedded into every culture and history, including every individuals’ life experiences (both believers and unbelievers), therefore the information and wisdom it contains cannot be destroyed.
In answer to your question, Christians should always include everyone as creations of God and loved by Him, because Christians are only saved because they, as unbelievers, saw the truth and relevance of God’s Word, as well as His continuous practical works in their lives when they called upon His name. Then were they able to relate to God according to His Word, because they chose to accept and draw closer to Him in spirit and truth.
It can also be summarized as such:
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
John 3:16-21
Thank you. Good look at the past and the future. 🙏🏽
