“If it’s your job to eat a frog, it’s best to do it first thing in the morning. And if it’s your job to eat two frogs, it’s best to eat the biggest one first.”
Mark Twain
I used to be a night owl, I would do most of my work at night, plus party. Some days I was a zombie. It worked for me and I was fine, kind of. One day everything changed and then I had children that’s when I had to start doing everything in the daytime. It was a big change and I simply had to adjust and I had to adjust fast. It took me a while to refine the setup of my day to work best for me. Actually it’s still being refined as I go along. This is when I realized the quote above was right, I had to do the hardest things in the early part of the day before everyone wanted a part of my day. How do you structure your day? Does it work for you as you think it should or does life happen and throw a spanner in the works? The thing I noticed is that many persons will give you a glimpse into their day but they are entrepreneurs and so their day will look totally different from mine. I work for someone they don’t. Actually I wonder if there is a major difference? Can someone tell me who has walked both sides of the street.
I saw this quote and I thought of how well things work for me when I get as much sorted in the early morning as possible. The thing I noticed was when I push off persons trying to hijack my day for their own benefit I got more done. Do you agree? Or is it that your day is owned by others no matter how hard you try? How do you make the change? Is it even possible to make the change if you don’t own your hours? Would it make a difference? Anyway this quote became the way I started my days when I tried many ways of getting more productive. It was hard at first because I had always been a night owl. But as it became necessary I had to adjust and that I did. It made no sense saying I will continue as I had been doing because we have to change as situation change in life. Life is like that, it is never constant.
