I remember years ago complaining to my mother that someone had borrowed money from me and I could not get it back. Now can you believe I lend this person my hard earned money and I have to chase them to get it back? Has this ever happened to you? My mom’s response was “ only lend money you are willing to lose.” I remember saying to my mom, but people will think I am mean and she shrugged her shoulders and said, “you can’t live your life according to other persons’ expectations.”
This was when I had started working after university so it was early enough in life to set my way of thinking. That is how I lived my money life after that. If I know I would need it in a little while, no you could not borrow it. I was not being mean but practical. If I give you my money and when I need it you don’t have it and can’t say when you will, who will be out of pocket? Better you upset than me.
I developed a relatively healthy relationship with money. Yes, you need that or it will always look as if it’s running away from you. Money is needed as it makes life easier. Try living without it. I don’t know about you but I prefer the creature comforts of life and that’s what money afford. Before you say it the Bible says the love of money is the root of all evil not money itself. I like what money can allow not the money itself. I don’t believe in sitting down counting but in using it to give me a nice life.
My dad and I were talking about money once and I said “there is no reason to be poor as if it’s a badge of honor and besides you can’t help people if you poor.” He laughed and said “you finally got it.”
So many persons have said but Jesus was poor. My answer is no he was not. He would not have needed an Accountant in my mind and that was the functioned of Judas. Also when the soldiers were gambling for his garments do you notice that they were seamless? Poor people could not afford that kind of clothes at that time. He rode into Jerusalem on a donkey, he didn’t walk. He was not rich but neither was he broke. Broke not pretty.
I am not envious of persons that are rich as you don’t know what they did to get it. Go do your thing so that you can get your own. Ignore the naysayers, they want to keep you with them. That’s what I do and will continue to do. Not rich yet but there is time 😂🤣, or will I be wealthy? That difference for another blog.
Let me know what you think. Do you agree or disagree? Do you want to be rich or …..?
See you next Wednesday at 8:00 pm.

Why should we ‘pay’to learn a lesson that so many different people are eager to teach us for free???
Mom’s said it best – lend only what you can afford to lose.
I’ve learned my lesson…the one’s that I paid for…lol
You understand totally.
Wasting money is even worse than lending it. I dont even want to be rich or wealthy. Merry Christmas Andrea!
Wasting money worst than lending. Never thought of that, interesting.
I guess you just want to be comfortable.
A merry Christmas to you and have a great new year.
Lend if you are willing to lose…so right Mom. I agree. Lending money has made this World a more successful place. No man is monolithic; no man’s an island – were our brothers keeper. I like the inclusion of Biblical history – Referencing to Jesus Christ. A man who had the power to turn water into wine, could never have nothing on Jesus. Not even Alchemists of Medieval times. I end with this…The Live of money. Root of all, and to all evil. Well written lady Perry
Glad you liked it. Will continue to use this gift.

Don’t wanna be rich, just comfortable. Better them upset for real! Good article.
