I stopped to get gas one morning on the way to work after dropping off the kids. I saw this man passing with a cup in his hand and you know that early in the morning it was alcohol. I was amazed and not in a good way. The lady that had pumped the gas realized what I was looking at and said yes that’s rum. I could only shake my head and thought to each their own.
She then said I can never understand people like that all the money they earn going into that. Of course we started talking, how else can I get material for my blog? 😁. We talked about family. She told me about her 5 month old baby. She was working because as she said if she makes 5 and her husband makes 5 that is ten. That is the start they need. I said and you grow together. And she said yes that’s what we know will happen. She then said her husband had a job that didn’t pay much and he kept saying I want a job that can pay better than the job I now have and help us. She said he was always saying this and one day he got a call. Can you come do this job for a month. Of course he jumped at it. Well he’s now on staff for that temporary job and has moved up the rank. I said to her you guys believed and she said yes we do. Her story can inspire for sure.
As my mother use to say belief kills and belief cures. Some might have looked at that belief he had and said he was living in a fairy tale world but he held on. He just felt in his heart of hearts that something would happen for him. Now the thing is he would not have gotten the call if he hadn’t proved himself to the person willing to give him the chance. As the saying goes “words are meaningless without action to back them up.” It’s like writing down “goals” but doing nothing to attain them. Yes the goals pretty on the paper but what will you do to get there? It’s very important to start moving. If it’s the wrong direction then change course and continue moving. That’s life. We don’t just sit hoping it gets better we try to make it better for ourselves. I know for a fact you can’t do it by yourself because no man is an island. Sometimes we just need a little inspiration and sometimes it comes from the most unlikely sources. The important thing is to realize what it is and accept it.
