‘Not everything that can be counted counts and not everything that counts can be counted’
Albert Einstein
I saw this one day and thought it was so true. You know money and living my best life came to me. Money can be counted but it doesn’t always count, while living your best life really counts but it cannot be counted. Still with me 😉? Does this make sense to you? Let me know. If you don’t agree what do you think it means?
Not everything that you can physically look at and might seem important is really important. I know persons that worship at the altar of money and all that it should mean but at the end of the day can you take it with you? Or is it the challenge to make the money that is really the important thing here? Someone said to me just this week that you have to live your best life and it’s not all about the money because you can’t take it with you. However someone told me a story about a man who was adamant that he would take his money with him and it was even in his will. So to satisfy his demand his wife wrote a cheque and put it in the coffin with him. Well he did get his wish or did he? 😁. Do you think he actually took the money with him? Beside what in the world or the after world was he going to do with the money? Ain’t he dead?
In my mind the reason to make money is to enjoy your life, to live your best life. It’s not to keep under your mattress and count daily like Scrooge McDuck. Money is there to make life easier and for you to have experiences. Life is for living. Go out and live it. See the world or do what you do to enjoy life. Experiences for me are so amazing. I can always look back and say I so enjoyed the things I did, interestingly I can’t usually remember the things I had. I can remember all the famous landmarks I have seen and touched. That’s what I want to give my children. I tell them it’s not about the size of your house but how you have lived and enjoyed the one life you have. Yes the one life as we shall not pass this way again. It’s one life and that’s it so why not live it well. Really look at what’s important to you.
Don’t get me wrong I know the value of money and I truly appreciate it and all that I can get from having money, but it’s not the be all and end all of my life. Without it life would have been harder than it needed to be and you all know that I like the creature comforts of life. What about you? Do you think that having money is a sin or is poor a crime?
I really want to know what you are thinking, and I know others do too. Try commenting 👍🏽, but if you are not comfortable, reach out to me via any medium. What is important to me… faith, family, friendship. I agree that money is not the be all, end all… but I feel blessed that I don’t have to worry about it and I’m able to enjoy the comforts of life and to help others too. However the biggest treasure for me is knowing I can freely praise God and I have family and friends with whom I can share my joys and my sorrows.
So what I count are my BLESSINGS.
Well said. When you feel blessed it’s one of the greatest feelings ever. Be grateful. 🙏🏽
What counts, and should be counted, is how we treat others. I believe life is about relationships -serving & lifting others up- my relationship with God, my family, friends, neighbors, colleagues, all I come in contact with.
Money is a necessity to meet our obligations; it also allows some to enjoy life beyond the obligations, and to help those in need, although that’s an individual choice(how we manage our money) Some people will have more (determined by so many factors) than others & experience a different lifestyle.
All so important. As you noted it’s dependent on the individual. It’s takes all types and things to make the world go round.

Money is important, but life’s experiences, family, friends and one’s faith make you infinitely wealthy.
So yes, money matters, however the intangibles are by far more important.
So true. It’s important to really understand this and to make it a part of how you live. 🙏🏽
To be poor is a crime. But it is crime sometimes done to us. However on the bright side, I love my experiences and they don’t always cost money. But it sure helps!
Money sure helps to make life easier. Experiences make life livable
