“Let’s live until we die.” Those were from the homily my priest did recently. It might sounds strange for some but it makes perfect sense to me. That basically what my parents told me when leaving university. They encouraged me especially my dad to live life. They didn’t expect me to go out and go overboard but they wanted me to live.

So many persons don’t really live as they should they just exist. Existing is not living believe me. I remember my husband saying to me years ago that we should not wait to do things and live life as we had seen so many persons do when they would get on/off a cruise ship with oxygen tanks behind them. They like so many would wait until it was “the perfect time” to travel and see places outside of what they know. I don’t want that. I want to live for me and enjoy what I do as I go along. Living life doesn’t always mean traveling and seeing the world, although I like that it could be just having down time with your family, just laughing and talking. For me living life has to also means being happy. I’m not even sure how to explain it. May you can do that for me in the comments.

Yesterday I was talking to two persons and they both asked the same rhetorical question, is it worth it? Is it worth pushing yourself day and night and not enjoying what you are doing? Is it worth not living your life because you are so focused on moving ahead? For me it’s no. How about you? I know persons that it would be yes, because they enjoy the excitement of constantly gaining money, notoriety etc. I guess it’s to each their own. How do you get the excitement and the adrenaline for living?

If you are not really interested in ensuring that you live your best life then what does life mean to you? As I remember writing in a previous blog, some persons are alive but not living. They just move through their days and life everyday. They can be alive for many years but not living. I have seen this so often. Is it that the person thinks that life is just the same day in day out? Wouldn’t that mean life is boring? Maybe you do like boring and it’s fine for you to just coast through life.

Just thinking about the quote I really am trying to live life to the fullest. That is live life until I die. When the time comes later in life when my body says go sit down and be quiet I don’t want to look back and say, I wish I had. As my dad told me “never look back and say I wish I had, look back and say I did.”
