“Thank you.” Two simple words that can make a difference. Would you believe how hard it is for some people to say these two simple words. My mother made sure my sisters and I had it as a part of our vocabulary. It was our norm. I still say it because it is the right thing to do.
How hard is it to smile and thank someone that poured water for you in a restaurant or sold you food or provide some kind of service? It’s so easy. It doesn’t mean you are being subservient to the person it just shows you are grateful for the service(s) they provided. That show of gratitude might make such a difference in that person’s life. Don’t just say it because it has become automatic, it should also be genuine.
I was in church one Sunday and the major theme was about just that, saying “thank you.” It spoke about the 10 leapers that Jesus healed. Notably only one said thank you to Jesus and to God, and it was the one that it was least expected. The others were happy but never thought of saying thank you for being healed.
I thank God every morning when I open my eyes. You should too. Try making it your norm. “Thank you, Lord on this day, for our many good blessings.” Its a great way to start the day and it will gather momentum as the day progresses. Always show gratitude for all that has been given to you and what you are about to receive.
When I look at my life and my family, I am so happy and sometimes tears come to my eyes. “Tears of joy”. My parents might no longer be here, but I’m just grateful for the time I had with them. What they taught me and some things I decided I wouldn’t do. I always believed in learning from other persons lives not only from my own. That’s for another blog.
Is “thank you” a part of you? If not can you make it so? Let me know what you are thankful for and really think about it. It doesn’t have to be massive things. Start small and you will see that they add up.

You’re so right. THANK YOU… two small but powerful words. It can have such a positive impact on you and those around you.
One of my favourite songs from Sunday School, that I still often find myself singing is… “Thank you for giving me this morning. Thank you for every day that’s new. Thank you for every little blessing. I am thanking you…”
THANK YOU for sharing your thoughts in your weekly blog and THANK YOU for being a friend.
Thank you 🙏🏽.
Being thankful is something that comes natural for me because of how I was brought up. I have a ritual with my first born, each night after prayer we have to say 3 things we are thankful for..it allows me not to take things for granted..and it also highlights how blessed we are. I also had some thoughts recently about how to bring up grateful kids in a very entitled world.. (probably something you can bog about)
But today I want to Thank yoy for your continued Blogs and most importantly yout continued friendship
You are welcome and continue your work.
