As I sat writing the blog for this week I realized I really wasn’t into that topic anymore so I changed to this one. I just felt so drained and wondered if it was just the heat or just life pulling at me. Then again it could just be the fact that we are almost at the end of the school year. Thank the Lord. 😂. I knew mentally I am exhausted and I had to do something about it. When I get a block writing I knew something was wrong and I had to make a change. Where to start?
Interestingly I noted that I had started to change my reading patterns. I had moved to lighter reading and listening to more music and less podcasts. Just trying to make things lighter, sigh. For me it’s like when you exercise your body and you can push yourself so far and no more or your body will break down. Same thing with the mind. The quote “Music hath charms to soothe the savage breast. To soften rocks, or bend the knotted oak.” is so real. I have been listening to retro music that takes me back to a time of no problems and no responsibilities. 😁. Oh those were great days. Can you relate? I know that I have to do all I can to get my mind focused and make sure I feel happy. Covid thought me many things but the main one was keep yourself happy no matter what. When I’m in a good place mentally I know it helps me physically.
Novels and music, who would have thought that was a way to help myself. If you have the same issue you can try it. What I realized was it was just a way to create down time. Down time is important trust me. Without it you just always on a high and it’s almost impossible to figure out how to get down. I just don’t want to be tired all the time so had to help myself.

When I am tired, I take a warm bath, and put on my lounge, turn on some soothing music, have a glass of sherry, with stawberries, and finally I relax in one of the recliners.
