“Sometimes when you’re in a dark place you think you’ve been buried, but you’ve actually been planted.”
Christine Caine
When I first saw this quote I could relate immediately. Sometimes things look really dark and bad and you can’t see the good in anything that’s happening. It’s during those times that you are actually learning and preparing for what’s to come. It’s sounds strange but it’s true. Look back at your life and really think about it. Think about that job that was the one from hell or that relationship where the person in your mind was from hell and might have actually been the devil’s spawn. It was during those times that you actually grew. Well that’s what happened for many persons. I won’t lie some actually regressed. Which one happened to you? Did you grow or did you go backwards?
I look at my life now and look back at what happened and I realized that it was during some of the most trying times that I gained strength. Sometimes it felt as if I should just throw in the towel and give up but that was never an option and now even more so. “No retreat, no surrender.”
Things now are as we have never seen before and I personally won’t roll over and play dead, not to Rona. Life is meant to be lived. Doesn’t mean that I have to be out on the road constantly or out partying but I still have the chance to live my best life. How do we do this when things look so depressing? That’s when we look at what is there and select the best from what’s on offer and really do our best.
I remember some times in my past that I was sure things were the absolute worst and could get no better and would only get worst but things did get better and I learnt from those situations. Lessons are always there in every incident or issue. It’s up to is to see it for what it really is.
No matter what happens we have to decide what we will allow to push us to the limit and how we will react to what is happening to us and around us. What do you do and how do you make sure you are always learning from the past? I really want to know what you are thinking, and I know others do too.
