Now I keep hearing when this is over and things get back to “normal”. But now I keep hearing and I’m asking what will be normal? The before Covid or the after Covid normal? Before Covid persons spent no time at home, were too busy, didn’t have time to be with family, didn’t have time to cook etc. After Covid things changed. We had no choice but to be home. I heard a interview (caught the end of it) where a man said it was the first time in ten years he was meeting his neighbors. They practiced social distancing and saw each other in person. Will the old way or the the new way be the normal? Will they go back to their busy lives and not seeing each other or now take the time to even wave to the neighbors.
It’s said that the stay at home policy of many nations created a sense of loneliness across the world because persons couldn’t go out to meet with others but was it this policy that caused it or was it the way many lived their lives before? The social media lives, showing the “best” of their lives. Persons in many situations weren’t being authentic.
Will we go back to that life or will we make a new normal that show the real life and the real persons or will that not be nice enough?
Medical personnel all over the world just happen to be the new super heroes in this new normal. Will we go back to where persons that really do nothing to make this world better go back to being the ones put on a pedestal or will the persons that make the world better stay in the limelight? Only time will tell, let’s just wait and see.
The earth got a break in the new normal will she still have the break or will we go back to the old normal where we try to kill her? Only time will tell but I feel many won’t learn from this lesson especially our leaders as the arrogant behavior will take over again. Let me know what your normal will be when we get back to normal.

Things will never be what they were before. The arrogance already rearing it’s head with countries prematurely opening business and borders. Sad, but harsh realities are what everyone facing now.
So although we change we don’t change. Interesting. Nobody seems to remember that we are here temporarily. Sigh.
The only constant is change. Strange but true. This pandemic is really an unexpected change which has forced the world kicking and screaming into a new normal. But out of every evil cometh good. The pace of life has certainly slowed and more resembles the togetherness and sense of family that existed in days of yore. It forces us to change our perspective of what is important. It has also bought out creativity in a lot of persons.
I believe though that although some of the new normal may be permanent, history teaches that people’s memory are short and the urge for the mighty dollar and simple carelessness will lead us back to some of the misbehaviour of recent past.
The question is… Is normal real or perceived?
What is normal, is it real or perceived? 🤔. That’s a good question. I can’t even pretend to know.
As you said persons will go back to what is comfortable. Might not be for the best, but …,
I’m already seeing the new normal and it’s not looking good. We are just gnawing at the bit for the powers that be to “fly the gate” and I fear it might be worst than before as everyone tries to make up for lost time.
My hope was that we would see all the gloriously good things that we had forgotten about and reintroduce them in our personal lives. Communicating and reconnecting with family, doing without the unnecessary materialistic things, getting closer to god through prayer and showing respect for human lives.
I hope we would have seen how precious the earth is and if given a chance will heal itself and we would seek to find more renewable energy solutions and create a better future.
But in the end money will dictate what we do and the money is in the hands of the oil, pharmaceutical, insurance and financial sectors and they will continue in conjunction with the “leaders” of the world, to kill planet earth.
Nicely said. The thing is as you said many don’t like this new normal so I expect them to want back the old ways. Sigh.
Is there hope to make this normal the new normal ?
The catch word is Normal but what we really need to look at is what extent God had to go through for us to stop and look. The life style that we had was our down fall. The slow killing of oneself was not seen at all but the drinking and eating of things that are killing us slowly. The quick death and the slowdown pace caused by this panedemic should help us to look at things in a different light and take care of ourselves.
God is in charge as you said but the idea scares many. So tooth and nail we will fight to keep what we have and have made “normal”.
Can we really take care of ourselves and look at things in a different light? Good question. Many be someone can answer that as I am at a lost. Humans are strange creatures.
I do believe that we won’t have a universal new normal. We create it input own sphere and develop added strength to cope with those who put rank and stinkability first.
I am enjoying my home and family even more now, as I force myself to slow down.
As a contributor said, God felt he had to send a pandemic. There will be changes to a new normal. The longevity of the postive changes will rest within the family.
Hopefully we can find this new normal. Family has to now be a priority. Let’s see what happens.
