The topic might look strange, but stay with me. Thought of the topic when someone was sorting something for me that was technical. He sorted part of the issue and that was the internet portion. I was elated and said to him you know the internet is the staff of life. His response was yup, it is and we both laughed. That was pre COVID-19, and now the topic doesn’t look so strange does it? It’s no longer a laughing matter. Without the internet what would we have done for work or school. Life would have been so different. It’s no longer a luxury. I swear it’s now a part of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, right down there with air, water, food, rest and health. 🤷🏽♀️
Imagine if we had been hit by this two decades ago. How would persons work from home or how would we have had virtual school? No social media to pass on “information.” It’s just too much to imagine. Yes, I know I’m being dramatic 🤣, but this topic would not have even made an impact last year. What a difference this pandemic has made on so many things. Do you think the internet has really made such a significant impact on life? As you all know, I think the internet is the best invention since slice bread. 😉. I know my kids can’t live without it. Cable and the phone can go but no internet, whatever shall we do? The last time this happened I tried explaining that life was fine before the internet. The response from them both, was life must have been boring 🤔. Sigh. What’s your take on this?

Without the internet we wouldn’t know about covid 19 so they couldn’t quarantine anyone and everyone would be fine because most of it is just media fear and political propaganda fueled by the internet anyway. So the internet is both the cause and cure.
Interesting thoughts.
We would still know about it as they did in 1918 just slower.
Yes, but the medical stats would be based on each country’s own health system and results and not W.H.O.’s propaganda results that were being added. Consider Wuhan today. They work independently from the WHO and today it’s like nothing had happened there.
🤷🏽♀️. Can we trust what the Chinese say about Wuhan?
We don’t have to trust the Chinese to observe what’s happening in their country.
Chinese is not a good example. They can shutdown the country and no one complains or protests. How many western countries can do that? You are not allowed to infringe on peoples rights.
China only allow outsiders to observe what they want as was seen from the initial issues between December 2019 and January 2020.
Give me another example. All countries that have control of the situation had to shutdown to do that and guess what they had to use the internet as a means of communication.
