So one day I got this message from someone I know and she said “I’m back home.” Meaning back in her home country. I asked what happened and she said her house burnt to the ground. Major disruption in her life. She had left to make more money elsewhere. It was rough for her as she had to leave her kids and husband behind. Two weeks later Covid-19 started to create major disruptions in this part of the world. She was home and safe in the arms of her family. I sent her a message basically saying you came home just in time and she said matter of fact, “everything happens for a reason.” Some people actually believe that everything happens for a reason but others think it’s just woo, woo, mombo, jombo. What do you think?
I personally think everything happens for a reason it’s just that sometimes you can’t see why or don’t want to see what’s in front of you. In my mind it’s just that higher being that you believe in putting a block in your way so that you will go around it or turn back. Some persons just get really upset and think that it’s just bad luck. I have reached a stage in my life when I realize it makes no sense fighting especially when I have no control. Took me a while to get there. As I said in a previous blog, God’s answer to your question is yes, no or wait.
Is it that you lose control if the Almighty is the one in control, aka pulling the stings? Is it that you are really losing control or just being guided? I was talking to a friend one day and she also said, everything happens for a reason. She was referring to her mother that had a stroke. When she said that others might have thought her a tad unfeeling, but she then said if that had not happened her mom would still be smoking or dead. The stroke showed the issues she had, block arteries etc. In this case the family was convinced that this happened to save her life. What do you think? Is it real or mombo jombo? Do these things happen for a reason or do they just happen? No reason, it’s just life.

I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason but when you are in the deepest part of the valley the wait sometimes seems interminable. The story of your friend’s mom who gave up smoking after getting a stroke inspires me. Stay blessed.
I guess that’s how it works, one never sees the reasons for being in the valley until you are out.
I am glad you were inspired by that story. 🙏🏽
I too am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason however often times, it’s not until you’ve reached the end of the tunnel that you realise and take the lessons learnt. The road tends to be long and treacherous but there is always a silver lining with every cloud. I can personally attest to that.
Isn’t it strange that we have to reach the end of the tunnel to realize that we were being led. How comes we never notice during the journey? The great thing is we do notice why we had to go through the tunnel. 🙏🏽
As a believer in Christ I know that he pulls the strings. HE is in charge and All things are for the glory of the Lord. The stories shared are practical and as I reflect at this time on the World, I know it is for a reason. Focus on the opportunity and give thanks for every lesson learnt.
Amen. The good thing is to realize who is in charge. That is when you can move on with life and focus. 🙏🏽
I am a firm believer that things happen for a reason, it’s just that sometimes when we are in the moment … its not that clear.. Just like NOW, I believe that the Pandemic is for a reason… I see the positives in it, more time with the family, rest time, less pollution, more down time to really reflect, but even though I see and I know, doesn’t make the acceptance any easier.. But it gives me Hope that I know that God is in control and he has a reason!.. Stay Blessed, Stay safe and continue posting Andrea, the blogs do help many of us 🙂
It’s hard to accept the positive in this situation but we must. It’s simply a reset
